Explanation

As you can see these posts seem disjointed. I am just sending a couple of practice posts before we get underway on Oct 10th at 10 Am. I wanted to practice with the new camera and the goggle blogger before we started. If you are in Ithaca New York  on 10/10/10 @ 10:00am stop by Johnson's Boatyard to see our send-off. In addition to Tom and I, George will be with us the first part of the trip and Kevin will be towards the end. Frank and Denise will be joining us on their boat for the trip down. We will be taking pictures as time allows. Please feel free to leave comments on this site or facebook.

Fingerlakes Sailing Services

This John, Joe, and Bob, they all work with me at Fingerlakes Sailing Services. They are standing in front of 1964 Person Vangaurd that they recently restored. This boat will be heading out for Maine next year,by water of course. As you can probably guess we are all old boat guys. John and Bob own the business. .

Fall rain

Today was more like a fall day with off and on rain. We continued loading the boat with canned goods and other stuff. I think the excitment of the impending trip have Tom and I and everyone around us wired up. When going on a long trip maybe you should just dump everything on the boat and take off, sorting stuff out as you go. To add to the anxiety  Karen's mom is sick.

Johnsons Boatyard

This is Jim, he is the guy that gets your boat in the water out of the water or mast stepped. He and Tiffiny order parts and run the store

Loading the boat

Today we spent the day loading food and supplies into the boat. There is a surprising amount of space in a 31' Island Packet sailboat. We will see how long a boatload of food lasts.
